What We Are Watching...Christmas Shows!

Well ladies and gents, it's that time of year again when my kids are ready to watch holiday shows to no end.  And yes, you saw right...HOLIDAY shows.  As not all are typically Christmas themed.  We have started our show watching strong, so here is what we have watched so far, and how it's rating on our fruity scale:

Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas is one my children found on Netflix and have enjoyed a few times around already.  A collection of stories it covers subjects that are always great to cover with children: to be kind, forgiveness, put others before yourself, material possessions aren't everything, don't be so grumpy!  We have enjoyed this one and definitely would recommend it for any other family out there.  My only warning: It does refer to Santa so if you are not up for that, skip this one.

Ahhh The Cat in the Hat.  The only complaint I have about this one personally is that I find the overdone Cat's voice a little grating after a while, but this show was a pretty good one.  The Cat and his friends find a reindeer who has lost his way and needs to find a way back home.  On their adventures the children learn about perseverance as well as using their senses.  Like the show with Mickey, Santa is heavily referenced.  This is not a problem for our family, but I am aware it could be for some.  Overall though, there were no issues with this Netflix find and I would happily let my children watch it again.

A Charlie Brown Christmas.  This one came on our ABC channel and we made sure to store it on our DVR.  It doesn't feel like Christmas to me until I watch this with the kids!  Who doesn't love this movie?  At 50 years old it truly is an ageless classic.  As a mommy to a fruitful family I give this one my GOLDEN APPLE AWARD.  Fancy 'shmancy huh?  I love how it is so good nurtured, references scripture, lets us see the kids we love, and allows us a peek at the pup we all wish we had as a 4 legged friend in our family.

So that's it for us, what are you watching so far this family season? Any that we should avoid?  What do you think?
